Selling to the Public Sector?
Don’t miss these events …
Here is an opportunity to get
specialist advice on public sector procurement
in order to compete more effectively with traditional
suppliers, often based outside of the region.
These events aim to raise small business
understanding of public sector procurement and
will include introductory training in their tendering
processes (for example, business drivers, new systems,
use of the web).
The four events, which take place
in Barnsley, Bradford, Hull and Thirsk, all have
the same programme but there will be local variations
in speakers and attendees on the purchasing side – so
you might like to attend more than one! They all
start with registration (and breakfast!) at 0830
and run till lunchtime.
They will feature seminars and workshops
from procurement specialists from a wide spectrum
of organisations including local authorities and
the NHS. They will explain the varying procurement
and tendering methods employed across the public
sector and outline how they are hoping to work
with SMEs across the region, including examples
that have engaged local businesses and that demonstrate
how local contracts are being won. ‘Meet
the buyer’ sessions will offer networking
opportunities for public sector representatives
and potential suppliers.
This is very timely as the NHS and
the local authorities increasingly adopt on-line
tendering processes and introduce new IT systems
that support more streamlined ways of working that
should be welcomed by small businesses. You can
read more about this in our My-IT
e-tendering case studies section.
Please
book as soon as possible
to avoid disappointment …
