Articles and resources with something
for anyone interested in
e-procurement
We've marked those resources which
major on the
e-tendering stage of the process with this symbol:
About
|
The Improvement
and Development Agency (IDeA) works in
partnership with councils to act as a
catalyst for local initiatives and develop
the local sectors. In line with the development
of government e-procurement, IDeA dedicates
a large section of its site to the practical
issues and services that are now available
to companies of all sizes throughout
the UK. This section of the site is produced
in partnership with the National e-Procurement
Project (NePP), which is also reviewed
on these pages. |
Focus
|
All aspects of public
sector e-procurement including extensive
case studies, links, product and vendor
databases, information on all stages
of the e-procurement life cycle and workshops.
There are also pages dedicated to implementing
e-procurement, preparing for e-procurement
and choosing a solution. There are extensive
downloadable documents in each section
that are also handily catalogued in an
Document A-Z page. |
Why
it's useful
|
This is the ‘one-stop-shop’ for
anyone interested in public sector e-procurement
on a practical level or from a spectator’s
perspective. It is current, practical
and uniquely incorporates discussion
forums that can be joined via registration.
There is also a very useful section dedicated
to e-tendering. |

About
|
This
section of the Cisco Systems website
outlines e-procurement for SMBs from
a process point of view including the
separate phases, technology and supply
chain. |
Focus
|
This particular section
of the site deals with purchasers wanting
to find out about e-procurement. |
Why
it's useful
|
The information on
this site is not geared toward any particular
type of organisation, instead giving
a blanket view of e-procurement. It is
useful in breaking down and identifying
the phases involved and how they relate
to the business and technology in simple
terms, such as Internal Buy-Side System,
Direct Purchasing System, and Marketplace
Involvement. |
Particular
areas of use
|
The pages are broken
down into: Overview, Case Study, E-Seminar,
Network Architecture and Get Started.
The first three sections are an excellent
resource. The 10 minute e-seminar in
particular (also available in PDF) looks
at the integration of e-Procurement from
the point of view of smaller companies
(non corporate) and there is an additional
list of related seminars available including
e-commerce, supply chain management and
sales force automation. The latter sections;
Network Architecture and Get Started
are technologically focussed with a view
to Cisco Solutions. |

About
|
Epiq
is an American software company that
sells solutions for e-Business, particularly
e-Procurement. The site has a section
containing feature articles on virtually
every aspect of e-procurement from a
b buyer and seller perspective. |
Focus
|
All – Buyer
and supplier companies, there is relevant
information about e-procurement and all
related areas (e-marketplaces, supply
chains, e-sourcing, inventory management
and much more). |
Why
it's useful
|
This is useful because
the information is general, but broken
down in such a way that you can go as
in-depth and technical as you choose,
al related topics are covered. It’s
still worth keeping in mind that this
is an American site however, and while
the expertise is very useful there may
be differences in business practice and
regulations that apply. The first articles
start at a basic level and as you delve
deeper become more complex. |

areas of use
